Making Progress {DIY Canvas Painting}

It must be the pressure of the Internet that gets a person going.  Have I said that before? hmmmm?  Because I admitted I couldn't stay focused in my home (if you missed that discussion, catch up here), I had to go out and do the opposite.  Maybe it's not the Internet.  I think I'm picking up habits from my 3 yr old. We're in that "do the opposite" stage.  So, I was already convinced that it would take me ages to get motivated and inspired to do another painting, but I proved myself wrong.  This corner wall of art in my living is moving right along.  I ended up doing the bottom painting and then taking the shade I had stenciled in yellow (which I quickly ended up hating along side the stenciled wall.  That particular yellow after some time looked a little neon-ish to me).  Simple fix, I went over the exact same stencil with black.  Problem solved.

Now, onto the branches hanging above...

Those have a story.  They were the manzanita tree branches from our wedding.  Everyone wrote a little message to Mark and I on our big day and hung them on the tree. Now those memories of best wishes hang on our wall with these branches.  They've moved around but I think I am liking them right here!

To say the very least, I am staying pretty consistent on not spending any money.  I think I have a new trend going here.  I used paint I had on hand.  The canvases, well, I purchased a while back just waiting for the right moment.  The moment finally arrived.  That counts as not spending, right? Branches I had, lampshade I had. Check. Check.  $0 spent!

On to the rest of the room...

Have a wonderful Monday!

Love those! They remind me of West Elm paintings!
I want to do more of that type of DIY art in my next place!
